Character Design - Greatest Heroes
As I said in a post earlier I've been looking a lot at character design lately and been designing my own, I've got about 4 done at the minuite I just need some a scanner and a bit of time on photoshop and I'll post them up here.
However I stumbled upon this the other day and thought it was quite relevant, http://uk.gamespot.com/greatest-video-game-hero/standings/index.html. This is a vote online that is currently going on the website www.gamespot.com , I found it quite interesting to see how all the gaming heroes compare in the eyes of the public. Anyway check it out one thing I would say though is that the list tends to be comprised very much of nintendo characters that are very franchisable (mario, yoshi, etc). Amazing characters none the less but they don't really have the depth of character that some of the others have that haven't done that well on the list. Don't get me wrong pac-man was an amazing game for its time but can anybody really say that he has the same amount of depth in character as Cloud (Final Fantasy VII) or Master Chief (Halo). But it's still a good list.
Like I said I'll have some cool pics up here soon, hopefully before term starts and then I'll try and work on turning them 3D over the year but I want to focus a lot more on my work this year.
